Everyday Style - Making Darks Pop

Top: ModCloth Roll Model Top (no longer available)
Jeans: HauteLook (Seven7)
Shoes: ThredUp (Yosi Samra)
Necklace: Monica's Fantabulous Fashions

As the weather starts cooling off (sort of) and days become shorter, it's natural to start moving towards darker colors. I can see the appeal. Darker colors are slimming, and they are easy to match. They are also attractive to people that want to look put together, but not draw too much attention. If you're like me and don't really want to blend in, you can still wear darks and make them pop. Accessories are your friend!

I chose to pair this simple yet classy ModCloth charcoal top with a statement necklace and corresponding flats. You could also switch out the necklace with a scarf for a more layered look, or switch out the flats with heels for a dressier one.

Now, I'm going to take a sec to gush about these flats! They are another ThredUp find (are you surprised?). I bought a pair of Yosi Samra fold up flats on ShoeMint and fell in love. They are the most comfortable flats I've ever put on my feet, but the price was a bit much for me. I was ecstatic to find this red pair on ThredUp for $15. That's a price I can handle!

If you haven't signed up for ThredUp yet, use my link and get $10 off your first purchase!

If you're looking for a great place to find statement jewelry, check my friend Mon's Facebook store out. If you'd like to find out more, you can read my post about it here

If you don't know what HauteLook is, you can read my post about it here or use my link to sign up here!

And again, if you've never shopped with ModCloth, use my link here for $15 off $50.

Date Night - The White Trend

white tren 1 white tren 2 white tren 3Top: LOFT Pleated Lace Front Cotton Tee
Jeans: H&M MAMA Skinny Jeans
Shoes: ShoeDazzle Marva
Bag: c/o JustFab Fairmont
Jewelry: Monica's Fantabulous Fashions

Kyle and I are still going to try to do date night every Friday with the baby, and even though we were just going to Mellow Mushroom, I used it as an excuse to dress up a bit a feel a more human.

White accessories are huge right now, so I was super exited to receive this bag from JustFab as my birthday present, one of the perks for being a Brand Ambassador for them. I love the cut out detailing on the side as well as the option of straps. It's a classy, on-trend bag and was the perfect size for all my stuff, as well as the baby essentials.

I bought the shirt at LOFT on sale last week, but unfortunately it sold out between then and now. I picked it specifically because it had detailing down the front. It worked pretty well to disguise the tummy.

You may have noticed, I'm still wearing maternity pants. My weight still hasn't stabilized so I haven't bought any pants yet, but there's no shame in enjoying the comfort of a stretchy waistband a little while longer.

I was going to wear some flat sandals but opted for these adorable wedges instead to dress up the outfit. They give the fancy factor of heels while still having the comfort of sandals (plus the bows are SUPAH CAYOOT).

I've discovered it can be pretty intimidating to show you my post-baby looks. It's not as easy to dress myself these days as I thought it would be. Don't get me wrong. I knew that my body would be completely different, but just finding things that fit, and that I feel comfortable in has been difficult.  The biggest thing I've had to learn is not to worry about what size things are. Focus on how clothes fit, not the size listed on the tag. I recently had to buy something at Target in a size 2 sizes bigger than I've ever worn, but it fit, and it looked pretty good. It's not an easy transition to make, but feeling comfortable in what you're wearing, makes you more confident regardless of size.

What I Wore To Church - Chambray Dress Remixed

Dress: eShakti Sash Waist Chambray Dress
Shoes: ShoeDazzle Shaira (no longer available)
Jewelry: Monica's Fantabulous Fashions

Why yes, I am still pregnant. Thanks for noticing. While my due date isn't for another 9 days, I'm definitely in the impatient part of my pregnancy. It doesn't help that at my OB appointment Thursday before last, my doctor told me I was already dilating. I know that doesn't mean much, but it certainly got my hopes up. I feel like my life has become a seemingly never ending waiting game. I almost didn't go to church today, but somehow I managed to drag myself out of bed.

I was debating what to wear today, and actually had worked my outfit around a pair of shoes I received this week. I guess I should've actually tried the shoes on before I worked an outfit around it because my feet were too swollen for them. So just imagine this outfit with a cute pair of red wedges instead of the black ones I ended up wearing.

And yes, you may recognize this dress from a couple of weeks ago. I talked about how I loved the versatility of chambray, and this is just another way to style it. I went simpler this time, letting the accessories do the talking. It's definitely a good staple piece in my wardrobe. The styling possibilities are endless. It helps that I customized it to add a bit of room in the waist so it fits quite comfortably as a maternity dress.

I'm hoping that there won't be an outfit post up next week because I've had a baby, but we'll see. You may get one or two more weeks out of me before I go on maternity leave from the blog. I've got other posts lined up, and my sister is going to be helping out during the hiatus so Shop With Beth will continue to run. There may even be some big changes coming to the blog in the near future. We'll have to see. In the mean time, thanks for reading!

What I Wore To Church - Navy and Mint

Mint and Navy 1Mint and Navy 2

Mint and Navy 3Mint and Navy 4

Dress: Old Navy Ponte Knit Maternity Dress (no longer available, but similar)
Cardigan: Tilly's Essential Elbow Knit Cardigan (no longer available, but similar)
Shoes: JustFab Naples (no longer available in mint, but similar)
Necklace: Monica's Fantabulous Fashions
Belt: LOFT

Don't fall over from shock, but I'm wearing an actual maternity dress. I'm pretty shocked too. I have a couple in reserve for when I don't feel like making a normal dress "work", and this is one I bought on sale a couple of months ago at Old Navy. That's definitely a maternity shopping tip. Check sales often throughout your pregnancy, and buy things you are too small for now in anticipation of your 3rd trimester. This dress looked terribly frumpy and boxy on me when I bought it, but let the belly grow a bit, and it looks great! Also, look for classic pieces in solid colors that you can accessorize.

As soon as I pulled this dress out of the closet, I knew I had to pair it with mint. Mint and navy is one of my favorite combinations and boy, do I have a lot of mint accessories. It took some self-restraint not to overdo it with the mint accessories. I had a mint belt I was going to add too, but that would've been way too much. Plus, I liked the little froofy (that's totally a word) detail of the flower on this belt, as well as the contrast of the black over the mint cardigan.

I definitely got comments on the shoes all day, mostly people telling me not to fall off of them. I just keep saying that I will wear heels as long as my body lets me, and so far it's cooperating. I've been blessed that my feet haven't started swelling yet (knock on wood), so heels aren't any harder to walk in than they were before. Once the swelling starts and for awhile after the birth, I'll be sticking to flats, so I'm trying to get as much wear out of my precious heels while I still can.

I feel bad that none of the items I wore today are still available because there were lots of people asking about my outfit. I don't usually put links to "similar" items but seeing as there were requests, I did my best to find replacements. Hopefully those looking are able to find something that works for them.

What I Wore to Church - Having Fun With the Nautical Trend

Skirt: eShakti Colorblock Stripe Poplin Skirt
Shirt: Old Navy Maternity Rib Knit Tank
Cardigan: Target (old)
Shoes: ShoeDazzle Sailor (old)
Jewelry: Monica's Fantabulous Fashions

I am a huge fan of the nautical trend and wanted to have some fun with it this week. Who doesn't want to feel like a sailor from time to time? Yes, I'm aware sailors don't actually dress like this, but I love it all the same.

The skirt is from...I'll give you one guess. Yes, it's definitely from eShakti. I love the stripe detailing at the bottom and the pleating. It's quite the full skirt which makes it fun for twirling, as well as giving lots of room for the belly. There's smocking on the back (oh, how I love smocking these days) so there's plenty of breathing room, and it was easy to zip. Definitely loving that I can wear it now, and should be able to continue wearing it post baby, but maybe on my natural waist instead of high-waisted.

I had to incorporate polka dots some how. Partly because they fit in with the nautical theme, but also because I love them. This tank top was a great find from the maternity section at old navy.

The red accessories were a must to tie the trend together. As I've mentioned before skinny belts are a pregnant woman's friend. They help better distinguish between the end of the belly and the bust-line. The jewelry was another great find from my friend Mon's online boutique. I told her I was looking for red statement jewelry. She gave me quite a few options, and this was the set I decided on. She's like having your own affordable personal accessories stylist. I love her to death. You can find my previous post about her business here.

Hope nobody passed out at the sight of me in flats. It's a rare occasion, but in this case, they just matched my outfit better than anything I had in heels. They were from ShoeDazzle a couple years ago, but I think a pair of red flats is a must for most people, and lucky for you, they are fairly easy to find, like these ones from Target.

I really had a lot of fun putting this outfit together. Once I get an idea in my head for a direction I want to go, I will not stop until I put the perfect outfit together. I couldn't wait to try this one out, and I think it turned out successful. I'm not a fan of the "standard" maternity fashions, but it's kind of been fun to come up with my own.

eShakti is doing another Buy 2 Get 1 Free sale, but if you only want one item, it rings up at 25% off. Definitely worth a look see.

If you're interested in checking out ShoeDazzle, use my referral link. They are a shoe club similar to JustFab so make sure to read the terms and conditions.

What I Wore to Church - Polka Dot Cotton Dress

Dress: eShakti Pleated Polka Dot Cotton Dress
Cardigan: ModCloth Charter School Cardigan in Sage
Shoes: H&M
Necklace: Monica's Fantabulous Fashions
Earrings: JustFab Rule of Three

I freakin' love this dress from eShakti. I got it for literally nothing (thanks again for the referrals!). I planned on wearing something different this week, but once this dress came in, I tried it on and didn't want to take it off. I knew there was no way I wasn't going to wear it this Sunday. I love the adorable polka dot print as well as how flouncy it is. It's a good spinny dress. Just ask my dad, I love to spin in dresses. I always have. It feels so feminine and fun.

The cardigan is another charter school cardigan from ModCloth. I have it in honey and absolutely love it (if you missed the post, you can reread my love here). So much so that I even bought it for my mom for Christmas because I couldn't keep the love to myself. Once I saw the cardigan in sage, I knew I had to have it. I stalked it until Cyber Monday where I got it for 20% off. I love green, but hadn't seen a green quite like this. It's another color that looks good with almost anything. It also works in any season. The cardigan itself is a great cut too. Very flattering and cozy. I will not stop until I can snag it in ALL THE COLORS.

The shoes I did NOT buy online (amazing, right?), but I did buy them in a foreign country. I bought them at H&M in Dubai for less than $10. I thought the brown went well with the green and since the dress was grey, it all worked out. At least I thought so.

The necklace I got from a recent flash sale from Monica's Fantabulous Fashions. For more info on my friend Mon's great online boutique, you can read my previous post about it. If it weren't for her, I would be severely limited in the jewelry department.

The earrings are from JustFab. While I don't usually buy their jewelry, they do have quite a bit of cute stuff. These popped up on the "you could add these on to your purchase" page when I was buying shoes. It's like the impulse aisle at the grocery store, and I have no impulse control. Regardless, I like the bit of bling they bring to the outfit.

Since referrals pay for quite a bit of my shopping, I'll go into the list of links below. If you're not interested, you can stop reading now.  Happy Shopping!

What I Wore To Church - Polka Dots and Red Accents

SANYO DIGITAL CAMERA

Shirt: H&M
Skirt: Old Navy
Shoes: Iron Fist Society Suicide
Jewelry: Monica's Fantabulous Fashions

Since I'm trying to take my own advice and try new things, I challenged myself this week to create an outfit I've never tried before using things I already had in my closet (novel concept, right?), instead of just wearing an outfit I've tried and proven before.

I'm totally digging the retro look of high-waisted skirts these days, and had this one in my closet from Old Navy. I bought it over a year ago but had never worn it. I wasn't quite sure how to style it because when I bought it, I was stuck on the idea of skirts being worn on my hips. When I dug it out this morning, I had the perfect combination in mind. It originally came with a black sash belt, but how boring is that? I love how the red belt brings attention to the smallest part of the waist and adds some fun. It also brings out the red in the shoes.

I originally bought these shoes when JustFab was featuring the Iron Fist collection. The biggest downside of Iron Fist is that they only carry full sizes. I first bought them in an 8 and they were far too snug, but by the time I decided to exchange, they were sold out of the 9. I had to stalk the website for months before I finally got them in a 9 and they were SO worth the wait. The details on them are too adorable for words, and I love pairing the polka dots on the strap and bow with other dots. Seriously, bows and dots are my favorite details.

Overall, I loved the retro look of the outfit, and how all the little details worked well together. I got lots of compliments at church so I'll take that to mean it worked. Again, I guess I should continue to take my own advice and try new things. It seems to work out in my favor.

What I Wore To Church - Colorblock Stripe Dress

I bring you another edition of "What I Wore To Church". We'll get right to it.
Sunday dress

Dress: eShakti (did you expect anything different) Colorblock Stripe Poplin Dress (sleeves added)
Shoes: JustFab Laurence
Necklace: Monica's Fantabulous Fashions

I got this dress practically free. I used credit from a previous return, plus $20 off for filling out a survey, and then $6 from my ebates payment, meaning I paid nothing other than what I originally paid before the return. And I absolutely love it. It's nice and poofy at that bottom which is fun to twirl in, and because it's neutral, I got to pick a pop of color for the shoes (which you know I love).

That was a really tough choice. I have a ton of color pop shoes and just had to pick which one was right. In all reality, I could've picked about four of them, but I was feeling pink today. I just got these recently from JustFab as you may have noticed in my last JustFab related post, and they worked out well. Not the most comfortable shoes, but I can handle almost anything for three hours of church.

Now I bring you a special guest to my What I Wore to Church segment. My sister Crystal (yes, the same sister who drove 3 hours for me yesterday).

photo
Dress: Maurice's
Shoes: JustFab JacquiBelt: American Eagle

Clearly fashion sense runs in the family (as does the love of mint). While she was here for my party she looked through my belts to find her something to accessorize the dress.  I thought this one worked well. Then she saw Jacqui in my JustFab display, and we both realized they were perfect for the outfit. What do you think? I think it worked out perfectly. She looks fabulous!

I'll wrap this up with a final note. I entered a contest recently on the eShakti facebook page. I hate entering these things because I hate begging for votes, but as much as I love eShakti (and as much as I sell their clothes for them), I figured a free dress would be a nice reward. I only have to be in the top 5 to win. I'm currently number 4, but 5 and 6 are very close behind. If you've got a second, I would really appreciate if you could give me some love and help keep me in the top 5. You can vote here. Thanks for reading!

Monica's Fantabulous Fashions

Company: Monica's Fantabulous Fashions
Price: Varies depending on what you buy
Details: An online boutique run by my good friend Mon that sells costume jewelry, some clothing, and accessories at very reasonable prices. She only accepts paypal as a form of payment, and features frequent "flash sales" with her in stock items. She's really good at watching the trends and offering items that match those trends. She also features Lily and Laura bracelets on her site!

How it works: If you order from her website here, it's just like any other online retailer, and you pay with paypal. If you shop her facebook page here, it's a lot more fun and an interactive experience. You can go through her photos and find something you like, then comment on it. If she has it in stock, she'll send you an invoice in paypal and then ship it out to you. If she doesn't, she'll usually try to find you something similar that she does have. The biggest fun thing is that if you are looking for something in particular, she'll make you an album full of things that may match your description. I did that recently looking for a mint or teal colored statement necklace (I sent her a link to a similar one for $40) and she gave me SO many options to choose from. I ended up picking this set pictured below.

jewelry

and the one I wore last Sunday with my Vannic Boutique chevron skirt:

Vannic Boutique

I also ended up buying this bracelet from her sale album.

SAMSUNG

One thing I LOVE about Mon is that she always tries to throw in something extra when you purchase from her. She sent me the below bracelet for FREE.

SAMSUNGIt definitely shows how much she cares about her customers.

Now let's talk about her flash sales. These are SO much fun to participate it because it's like a competition. She'll create a flash sale album, then she'll announce the time that it's supposed to start and the percent off that she's offering that night (25%, 50%, etc). At the designated time, she'll post "GO!" on her page and you go through the album and comment on all the ones you want. If you're the first commenter, it's yours! Just be sure to message her your paypal email address so she can send you the invoice, and make sure you pay your invoice within 24 hours.

She also does live sales where  she will post available, in stock items on her wall. She will either ask a silly, fun question or simply state (example), "the 3rd  comment gets this $17.75 item for $10.00". She definitely understands the competitive nature of most shoppers.

If you want more info on her rules for her sales, you can find them here. Like her facebook page so you can get notifications for her sales!

If you would like to shop her website, you can find it here, or her facebook page here. I highly recommend her store! Mon is a professional, fun, and dedicated business woman, and she will jump through hoops to find you what you want. I hope you take the time to check it out.
